Netizens Lambast 4P’s Beneficiary For Saying ₱8,000 Cash Aid Good For 1 Week Only

A Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary expressed her reaction to the national government’s ₱8,000 Social Amelioration Package for the poorest of the poor: “Pang 1 week lang yun”.

Over the past few weeks, the Philippine government under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte is already implementing stricter rules and regulations as a part of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon to contain the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Duterte government is already exerting extra effort to extend help to the less-fortunate Filipino people whose livelihoods were affected by the quarantine orders and the local government units were giving relief goods and cash aid to help poor families.

However, on the social media page of GMA News, video footage of a 4P’s beneficiary expressed her dismay regarding the ₱8,000 cash aid given by the government.

According to Alma Aquino, a beneficiary of 4Ps, she is spending the ₱8,000 cash aid wisely, adding that she is spending around ₱500/day in food alone to feed their family of eight.

In the video, GMA News reporter Tina Panganiban-Perez asked the beneficiary: “Yung ₱8,000 po na tulong pinansyal kakasya po ba yun sa inyo sa isang buwan?”

“Mga ano nga lang yun, mga one week lang ‘ata,” Aquino answered that the netizens on social media can’t help but to expressed their various reactions to the video.
