Viral Woman Now In Jail For Physical Injury After Throwing Humidifier At Saleslady

A 33-year-old woman was arrested by the Mabolo Police for hitting a saleslady with a humidifier at a mall in Cebu City Saturday night.

According to Mabolo Police chief Dindo Juanito Alaras, the incident occurred at the height of an argument of how the humidifier works.

“The saleslady of the fragrance stall complained that a humidifier unit was thrown at her. According to him, there was a misunderstanding regarding the use of the said unit and the customer suddenly flew into a rage and threw it at her,” Alaras told SunStar Cebu.


A video that captured the incident went viral on social media shows the suspect, Medelina Berja Yamazaki, while carrying a baby, arguing with the saleslady, Jennifer Fabillar.

Yamazaki was heard raising her voice and threatening the saleslady, “I swear, in the name of the Lord, I will kill you. I will pay you because I’m a millionaire!” and eventually seen picking up the humidifier and throwing it at Fabillar’s face.
The victim was hit in her right eye.

Fabillar filed a formal complaint for physical injuries and elements of the Mabolo Police arrested Yamazaki Sunday at her residence at the Cebu Business Park.

Alaras said Yamazaki and Fabillar are expected to face each other as a formal case is filed.

Yamazaki refused to be interview inside the police precinct and declined to comment on the incident.

The viral video has been uploaded to social media and has generated a lot of reactions with over millions of views, 20,000 reactions, and 35,000 as of this writing.
