Chiz Escudero: Parojinog’s Death A Warning To Other Narcopolitikos

With three mayors, linked to drugs, dead in police operations since October 2016, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero said this should serve as a “warning” to other politicians who were in the “narco list” of President Rodrigo Duterte.

He made the remark following the death of former Ozamiz City mayor Reynaldo Parojinog during a police raid in his farm Sunday dawn, July 30.

“They should be forewarned,” said Senator Escudero on Monday when asked what signal does Parojinog’s death send to other politicians included in the President’s narco list.

“I guess, it shows the seriousness of the administration of President Duterte in so far as his battle against drugs is concerned,” Senator Escudero said in a television interview.

Albuera, Leyte mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., who was also linked to drugs, was killed on November 5, 2016 inside his cell at Baybay subprovincial jail in an alleged shootout with CIDG men who were out to serve him search warrant for drugs and firearms.

In October 2016, Saudi Ampatuan mayor Samsudin Dimaukom was killed in an alleged shoot out with policemen at a checkpoint.

The lawmen claimed that Dimaukom was carrying illegal drugs at that time.
