Doctors Warn Never Sleep With Your Mouth Open After Snake Crawled Into Woman’s Throat

Doctors were shocked after they surgically removed a four-foot-long snake from inside a woman after it crawled into her mouth while she was asleep.

The slimy reptile managed to get inside the woman’s mouth as she slept in the yard of her home in Levashi, Russia, the Daily Mail reported on August 31.

Feeling unwell, the young woman was rushed to the hospital where she was put under general anesthetic.

Medical workers then placed her under general anesthesia as they prepared to remove the snake. 

Footage of the procedure shows a doctor inserting a black tube into the woman’s throat while she lay unconscious on an operating table.

Seconds later, the tube managed to latch on to the snake, which the doctor pulled out with the help of a female colleague.

After extracting the whole reptile from the woman’s throat, the medical staff placed it inside a plastic tub, but it is unclear if the snake is still alive or how long it was inside her mouth.

Locals say such incidents happen infrequently and older citizens advise the young not to sleep outside because of the risk of snakes slithering inside their mouths.

Other victims also experienced the same incident have complained of “something alive” inside them after snakes slithered into their mouths.

The ministry of health in Dagestan has not yet commented on the incident.

Meanwhile, some commenters claimed the creature could be a parasite or giant worm but it appears too big for this.
