Duterte Gov’t Brings Over 200,000 Jobs At Labor Day Job, Business Fairs Nationwide

As the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) spearheads today the commemoration of the 115th Labor Day, Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III said that over 200,000 jobs will be offered at the simultaneous job and business fairs nationwide.

A total of 1,138 participating employers will be bringing with them 201,811 local, overseas, and government jobs in the 54 Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) job and business fair sites.

The top local jobs with the most number of vacancies are: Production Machine Operator – 7,850; Customer Service Representative/Assistant – 6, 093; Police Officer (PO1) – 3,086; Call Center Agent – 2,490; Office Clerk – 1,740; Production Worker/Factory Worker – 1,520; Production Helper/Technician – 1,353; Cashier – 1,326; Sales Clerk – 1,115; Company Driver – 1,060; Electronic Assembler – 900; Technical Support Representative/Assistant – 855; Service Crew – 572; Sales and Marketing Assistant – 460; and Sales Associate Professional – 459.

For those seeking overseas employment, the top vacancies are as follows: Laborer – 2,600; Cleaner – 1,207; Service Crew – 1,180; Electrician – 1,080; Professional Nurse – 940; Production Worker/Factory Worker – 898; Welder – 725; Waiter – 724; Foreman – 550; Waitress – 522; Plumber – 442; Assistant Electrician – 400; Cook – 394; Company Driver – 354; and Production Machine Operator – 328.

Labor Secretary Bello reminded applicants to bring the following application requirements: resume or curriculum vitae (bring extra copies for multiple job applications); 2 x 2 ID pictures; certificate of employment for those formerly employed; diploma and/or transcript of records; and authenticated birth certificate.

The Labor Day job and business fairs replicate the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) initiative of the DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), which aims to bring employment opportunities and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

The 2017 Araw ng Paggawa is observed with the theme “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.”
