DSWD Chief Goes To Remote Barrios To Personally Check The Situation Of CCT Beneficiaries

Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo has been making the rounds of far-flung communities in the Philippines to personally check on the situation of the beneficiaries of the government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program.

While Taguiwalo’s personal efforts to visit the poorest of the poor are already commendable, what’s even more admirable is the fact that she’s been making the tours without fanfare.

Photos posted on Taguiwalo’s official Facebook page showed her clad in simple attire and sandals while making a visit to a community in Butuan last month.

According to the post accompanying the photos, Taguiwalo wanted to find out for herself the current condition of the CCT beneficiaries and what they still need.

“Hindi po alam ng mga beneficiary na DSWD Secretary ang kausap nila,” the post read.

Just like Taguiwalo, other DSWD officials are also visiting communities where CCT beneficiaries reside nationwide to know them better.
