P158.5 Million Davao River Bridge Widening Project To Complete By April 2017
The P158.5 million Davao River Bridge widening project
connecting Ma-a and Buhangin along the Carlos P. Garcia Highway or popularly
known as Diversion Road is eyed to be completed by April next year.
The regional office of the Department of Public Works and
Highways (DPWH), in its advisory Monday, December 5, said the riding public was
advised not to cross the bridge as it was closed from midnight up to 4 a.m.
Tuesday until Wednesday to give way for the construction work on the bridge.
Furthermore, in a public advisory, the DPWH said motorists
should take alternate routes.
“Construction works on the bridge will include the removal
of existing structures and widening,” DPWH said.
Moreover, placing girders or bridge supports will also be
done.
DPWH added that initial works of the project were already
done last April 15, 2015.
The project’s contractor is VT Lao Construction.
