VP Leni To Mar Roxas: He Was My Batman, I Was His Robin

Vice President Leni Robredo recently had a happy reunion with former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas during anti-martial law protest event at the UP Diliman last Thursday, September 21.

Roxas and VP Robredo apparently rarely see each other since they were the presidential tandem of the Liberal Party in the last polls.

The veep shared a snap shaking the hand of her BFF on her Facebook page, saying it was another “rare moment” to catch up with her true friend.

“He was my Batman and I was his Robin during the 2016 Presidential Campaign. We were together almost every day for 8 months. But after the campaign, he preferred to take on a more private life and I seldom saw him anymore,” VP Robredo said.

“Yesterday, was one of those rare moments. We were seated one row apart at the UP Chapel during the Martial Law Commemoration Mass,” she added.

She said they chatted about her daughters, giving him a rundown about Jillian’s plans to watch a concert at the Araneta Center.

Roxas pulled off a surprise the next day when he offered free concert tickets to VP Robredo’s daughter.

“After the campaign, I very rarely saw him or talked to him,” VP Robredo said.

“But from time to time, he would ask about the girls and even send them things that they might need, as he always did. Friends like this are rare. We are truly appreciative,” she added.
