Risa Hontiveros Says Kian’s Witnesses Chose To Be With Her: Anong Kidnapping?
Senator
Risa Hontiveros has shrugged off the allegation that she “kidnapped” two minors
who witnessed the killing of 17-year-old Kian delos Santos.
“Pero,
ibang klase talaga,” said Hontiveros after some groups accused her of
kidnapping after she took custody of the children “without” the consent of the
parent of one of the witnesses.
Hontiveros
on Friday, August 25, said she took no offense of the allegation against her.
“Iyung mga
nagsusulong pa ng hustisya para sa batang Kian at kasama ng mga batang testigo
niya ay babaliktarin pa. Gagawin kidnapper, human trafficker at kung ano pa,”
she said.
Hontiveros,
chairperson of the Senate Committee on Children and Women, maintained that the
witnesses, 13-year-old and 16-year-old girls, opted to be placed under her
care.
Delos
Santos was killed on August 16 during a drug operation by Caloocan police in
barangay 160.
The police
claimed delos Santos resisted arrest and fought back but evidence showed the
17-year-old student was shot execution style.
