Infrastructure Projects Of Duterte Admin In Sulu, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi Not Reported By Media

It’s already five months since President Rodrigo Duterte stepped in Malacañang Palace and his name has always been in the headlines, often in a negative light.

On the other hand, many of his supporters maintained that the President has been true to his promise of change and has done a lot since. One of these improvements is infrastructure developments in Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-tawi.

The Department of Public Works and Highways - Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DPWH-ARMM) started different projects in the said provinces, but were left unfinished.

However, in line with President Duterte’s ultimatum to hasten the constructions, more improvements took place.

More than 35 bridges were added, 45 ports are now in operation and projects like shore protection, drainages, flood control and water systems have been taken care of.

The infrastructure projects were estimated to be worth of P10-billion and were initiated by the previous administration under President Aquino, but President Duterte aims to finish the projects as soon as possible to avoid long-term delays.

In addition, many supporters noted how mainstream media failed to cover these stories which speak highly of President Duterte’s commitment to change.
