VP Leni Worries Over Revolutionary Gov’t: Matatakot Ang Tao, Walang Basehan
Vice President Leni Robredo has criticized President Rodrigo
Duterte for threatening to declare a revolutionary government if the alleged
destabilization plots against him continue.
Vice President Robredo said is worried about the alleged
destabilization plans floated by the President, especially if it lacks basis.
“Nag-aalala tayo na maraming mga paratang na ganito. Tingin
ko hindi nakakatulong, hindi nakakatulong na magsabing mayroong
destabilization. Hindi nakakatulong noong nagsabing magde-declare ng
revolutionary government. Kasi nagke-create ito ng fear among sa mga tao,” she
said in an interview at the first anniversary of the anti-poverty program Angat
Buhay Tuesday, October 17.
Vice President Robredo said talk about the destabilization
of government will only serve to divide Filipinos at a time when they needed to
unite.
The Vice President also questioned President Duterte’s basis
for claiming there are plans to destabilize his administration.
“Ano nga iyong basehan… anong basehan ng paratang? Kasi
madali lang magparatang, pero ano iyong basehan ng paratang?” she asked.
President Duterte last week threatened to declare a
revolutionary government if his critics push through with their supposed plan
to destabilize his administration.
He said in a televised interview that the revolutionary
government will last until his term ends in 2022.
Vice President Robredo said her criticism should not be
taken in a bad light, as she only wants the government to succeed.
“Kaya sa akin lang, sana iwasan iyong pagsalita nang walang
basehan, na iyong epekto nito mas madaming masama ang maidudulot nito kaysa
mabuti,” she said.
