Trillanes Cringes At President Duterte Fist Photo With Kian’s Parents: Ang Sagwa

Tasteless. This was how Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes described the supposed “idea” to prod the parents of 17-year-old Kian delos Santos to flash the clenched fist sign together with President Rodrigo Duterte.

Delos Santos’ parents met with the President in Malacanang on Monday, August 28, upon the alleged invitation of the Chief Executive wherein the latter promised justice for their son killed in a drug raid on August 16 in Caloocan City.

“Medyo tasteless lang ‘yung ‘fist’ gesture na ‘yun. Very tasteless yun kung sinuman yung nagsabi nun,” said Trillanes, a critic of the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.

“Ano ba? Nagluluksa ‘yung pamilya eh gagamitin mo,” the senator added.

VACC (Violence Against Crime and Corruption) Chairman Dante Jimenez and Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta accompanied the delos Santos couple to the Palace.

President Duterte has extended financial help to the delos Santos couple as well as vowed to seek justice for their son, whom the Caloocan police claimed was a drug runner for his father and uncle.
