Honest Security Guard Returns Bag With P500,000 To Owner, Refuses Reward

A mall security guard is receiving praises after he made efforts to find the owner of a clutch bag containing huge amounts of cash.

This happened in a mall in Makati City.

According to Ronald Llaneta, who hails from Atimonan, Quezon Province, he was doing his regular rounds in the mall when he saw a bag left in a pushcart.

It happened past 7PM last Thursday, May 18, while he was on duty.

He ventured into the supermarket section and that’s where he saw the bag unattended. He immediately brought the bag to the security office.

When they opened it, they found a stack of money estimated to be P500,000.

Ronald and his colleagues immediately notified the mall management about the lost and found bag in a bid to find its owner as fast as possible.

The owner was finally notified after an hour. He thanked Llaneta profusely offering a reward to the guard.

Llaneta gracefully declined, saying it was his job to secure people and property inside the mall where he works.

The mall management expressed their admiration for Ronald. Even his colleagues were impressed by his honesty.

The security agency which supplied Ronald to the mall expressed their pride in their employee.

Ronald Llaneta returns the bag and P500,000 to its unnamed owner.
