1,200 Campers Complete Jr. NBA Free Basketball Clinic In Bacolod City

Bacolod City set a record-breaking 1,223 attendees in the just-concluded Jr. NBA free basketball clinic held at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School covered court last February.

The two-day event registered 630 participants on Day 1, and 593 on the second day where former Philippine Basketball Association MVP Willie Miller and Philippine Women’s National Team veteran Ewon Arayi impressed the campers.

Jr. NBA Philippines’ Kalvin Sangalang said the surprising attendance underscored the love for basketball of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental which have abundant talents.

“I think this is the biggest attendance we ever had in many of the clinics in the provinces. And, the venue here is remarkably conducive and comfortable for learning,” he said.

Sangalang said this year’s Regional Selection Camp will be held in Cebu with the best performers going to Manila with an all-expense paid trip for the National Training Camp.

Best campers will be chosen from the Camp and will be part of the Jr. NBA All-Star Team which will be rewarded with an authentic NBA experience abroad.
