Europe Needs 22,000 Certified Filipino Nurses, Offers P150K Salary Per Month Plus Benefits
The Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE) announced that Europe is in need of 22,000 certified nurses
and all these positions are reserved for Filipinos.
According to Labor Undersecretary
Dominador Say, based on his meeting with the European recruiters, the minimum
salary offered for Filipino nurses will be Php 150,000 with benefits.
He also said that Filipino nurses
will have 6 months working visa, which can be converted to immigrant status
after 6 months, thereafter, the immigrant nurse can bring his or her family
after another 6 months.
Furthermore, the recruiters require
that applicants must be licensed nurse and can speak German language.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Paulyn
Ubial admitted that there is shortage of nurses in the public health sector of
21,000 nurses and health professionals.
These, however, should not be a
problem in case more nurses choose to work abroad because there is still over
supply from the nursing graduates.
She added that the compensation
package for nurses in Philippines has also increased tremendously in the past
five years,
DOLE is encouraging those who plan
to work overseas to be careful and vigilant with illegal recruiters.
