NAIA Terminal 3 Pedestrian Link Bridge To Open Next Year
A pedestrian link bridge directly connecting Terminal 3 with
Newport City across is getting closer to completion by the first half of 2017.
Instead of travel time that can reach over an hour just to
get out of NAIA Terminal 3, in about three minutes, the average person can walk
the distance between the airport and Newport City, from where safe options are
available to reach various parts of the metropolis.
The link bridge will be enclosed and air-conditioned, with
pedestrian-friendly facilities such as walkalators and elevators, making it an
iconic tourism development.
The bridge is part of the efforts to ease the traffic
situation in the area. By just crossing the street, you can reach Newport City where
there are other transportation alternatives such as the Citylink buses and
car-sharing services.
Furthermore, there’s also the possibility of enjoying the
comforts of nearby hotels as soon as you arrive from the airport instead of
spending hours on the road while nursing a jet lag.
Given its clear public benefit and necessity, the project
has received the full support and endorsement of relevant government and
airport authorities.
