Rappler's Pia Ranada Was Silenced By Pres. Duterte Answer Regarding US Embassy Violent Dispersal


Pia Ranada, a Rappler reporter was kept silent by President Rodrigo Duterte during a press conference when she asked questions related to the injured protesters in the US Embassy.

Ranada asked President Rodrigo Duterte during the press conference with the Malacanang Press Corps, regarding the violent dispersal in the US embassy. She then asked a follow-up question regarding the US alliances when President Duterte asked the reason of protest why they were there.

President Duterte said " Ikaw Pia, you're always well informed. Sumi-simangot ka nga eh. Pag sumi-simangot ka, ibig sabihin wala tayong alam lahat. Kayu na una diyan eh. Tumahimik ka".

Pia Ranada is the daughter-in-law of Raissa Robles, a well-known pro-Liberal Party journalist.

Raissa Robles is considered as one of the most vocal critic of the Philippine's President Rodrigo Duterte.
