Foreign Aid Not Needed Since Government Has A Lot Of Supplies - NDRRMC
National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRMC) Council spokesperson Romina Marasigan said that there are still a lot of relief goods to be distributed to affected areas caused by typhoon Lawin so the national government has not requested yet for foreign aid assistance.
Even the government has not requested the aids, neighboring countries in Southeast Asia express their intent to help. Still, the government is assessing the damage caused by Lawin in northern Luzon last wednesday.
After the assessment, the NDRRMC will know what kinds of goods they are needed and requested if the supplies are not available by that time.
"We will be doing assessment first so we will know exactly what type of aid we will be requesting from foreign counterparts," Marasigan said.
