Bishop Montgomery Is Victorious Against Cathedral Phantoms InBasketball Playoff Game, Moving To Semis

The 9th seeded team Cathedral Phantoms lost to Bishop Montgomery last February 25, 2015 by a score of 59 - 47. It's their third time to face each other and unfortunately, Phantoms didn't managed to win even one game against Bishop.

Cathedral Phantoms tried their best to get closed to Bishop Montgomery but the top-gunner of Bishops's, Stephen Thompson Jr., seemed to be a hindrance to them. It was a slow-paced game in the first quarter and  Bishops leading 10 - 8 at the end of the first.

At the second quarter, the Bishop's are still leading 21 - 12 with 2 minutes left in the clock. Cathedral's Milan Acquuah made two baskets and closed the gap to 22 - 16 with seconds remaining. At the end of second quarter, Bishop 25, Cathedral 18.

Bishop's Stephen Thompson Jr. is taking charge in the third quarter and scored three consecutive baskets for his team. Bishop Montgomery 31, Cathedral 25. On the other end, Kobe Paras made 8 points in the third quarter. Kobe is on fire, cutting the deficit to 38 - 33, Bishop still leading. End of third quarter, Bishop Montgomery 40, Cathedral 35.

At fourth quarter, with 2:30 left, Bishop Montgomery still on top 51 - 44. Cathedral's didn't find a way to catch up. Final score, 59-47  Bishop Montgomery's victory.

Cathedral Phantoms (20-7) will go back to Division 3 for the state playoffs. Kobe paras scored 14 points on this game.

Kobe Paras And Cathedral Phantoms Advances To Next Game After DefeatingRedondo Union Sea Hawks

Kobe Paras and Cathedral Phantoms advances to next game after they won against the Redondo Union with a final score of 61 - 56.

It was Cathedral dominating on the boards early on this game with 5 - 0 lead at first. It went to 7 - 4 with 4:00 left in the first quarter. Leland Green of Redondo Union is making points for them. At the end of first, the lead of Phantoms came down to 1, 11 - 10.

Milan Acquaah leading the surge for Cathedral, dropping some threes and scoring seven points in quarter. Cathedral Phantoms still leading the Redondo by 8. End of second, 26 - 18.

Acquuah was the main man for the Phantoms and he's taking over the business inside. He made a three in the opening of the third quarter. Redondo's Leland Green is doing the same for them to catch up the Cathedral which is leading by 2. But Kobe Paras drills a three and ended the third quarter with 46 - 41 lead for Cathedral.

The most exciting part was in the fourth quarter where Redondo is doing good and catching up against Cathedral.

The Brazilian big man Lucas Siewert who committed to Arizona State drops a three to give Cathedral a lead by 8, 49 - 41 with 6:30 left in the clock. Redondo is still closing and bringing down the lead to 3, 51 - 48 with 3 minutes left in the fourth but Kobe Paras made 2 huge baskets for Cathedral, 55 - 48 with 2 minutes left.

The teamwork of Cathedral Phantoms paid off by winning the game against the Redondo with a final score of 61 - 56.

Kobe Paras had 13 points. Lucas Siewert had 18 points while Milan Acquuah added 16 points. The Cathedral will play on Wednesday against the Bishop Montgomery who won against North, 81 - 55.

Bishop and Cathedral already fought twice and Cathedral was not able to win against them. It will be tough for the Cathedral but let's see on Wednesday.

Today is the day that Kobe Paras, a rising basketball star from Philippines, will play his first American prep high school playoff game. Kobe has been a dominant player inside the court on this season. He scored more than 30 points in 3 games and grabbed some Player of the Game award.

He helped the Cathedral Phantoms to enter into the playoffs. Today, the team will face Redondo Union for the first elimination round.

Kobe Paras Ranked 25th In The State Of California By ESPN As Of February 13, 2015


Due to the dedication and perseverance of the rising star from the Philippines, Kobe Paras ranked #25 in the state of California by ESPN which was updated last February 13, 2015.

Within just more than a year, Kobe Paras made a huge impact on his basketball career in the states. A game where black Americans are dominating. He had to adjust how the way locals play basketball there.

As the Cathedral Phantoms entering to the playoffs in this 2014-2015 season, Kobe Paras is now a valued and trusted player of Cathedral Phantoms. He proved himself that he can do it even he's a foreign student and player out there.

He catches the attention and gained the respect of High School coaches, College scouts, news reporters abroad and his fellow teammates.

How amazing is that the homegrown talent of Kobe Paras is now improving and leveling to the skills of other races? And not only that, there are almost 200 varsity players in the California, he's in the 25th but ESPN only showed theTop 60 California Recruits

Three players of Cathedral made it to the top 60. Milan Acquuah ranked 19th, Kobe Paras ranked 25th and Lucas Siewert ranked 26th.

Lonzo Ball is considered as the number 1 point guard in the California state by 247Sports. He's a junior player and the team captain of Chino Hills Huskies with a latest record of 13 - 12. He has a 5 star composite rating based on 247Sports.

Ball committed to join the UCLA Bruins last January 8, 2014. He is 6'5" tall and 170 pounds in weight. He was recruited by the Assistant Coach David Grace of UCLA.

Big Win For Cathedral Phantoms And Kobe Paras After Dominating The GameAgainst St. Bernard

After the Cathedral Phantoms defeated the Serra Cavaliers by a score of 76 - 62 last February 9, 2015, they also won on today's game against St. Bernard where they outscored the opponent and sealing the game with a final score of 77 - 44.

Kobe Paras scored 7 points that includes 1 dunk already in the first quarter. In the halftime, the lead for Phantoms is only 8 points, 30 - 22. While at the third quarter, lead became more bigger by 20 points, 55 - 35, Paras have 12 points. In the final quarter Cathedral became more aggressive and the lead ballooned to 33 points at the end of the regulation.

Kobe Paras finishes with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal. Cathedral Phantoms will be heading to playoffs.

St. Bernard Vikings scored 14 points in the first quarter, 8 points in the second, 13 points in the third, 9 points in the fourth quarter.

The 34 Points Of Kobe Paras Is Not Enough To Win The Game AgainstCantwell Sacred Heart.

Cathedral Phantoms lost to Cantwell Sacred Heart in the overtime game last February 6, 2015. The Cantwell Sacred Heart Cardinals won with a final score of 72 - 66.

It was a good start for the team cathedral Phantoms in the first half. Kobe Paras had 6 points at the end of first quarter with Cantwell on the lead 17 - 14.

At the end second quarter, Cathedral was on lead 26 - 22 with 11 total points for Kobe. In the third quarter, Cantwell has caught up to Cathedral and is leading by 1 point, 42 - 41. Kobe has 22 points total already.

The thrilling part was in the fourth quarter with 26 seconds left in the clock, Lucas Siewert fired a three-pointer and tied the game at 59 - 59. It went to overtime but the Cantwell Scared Heart brought home the victory.

Kobe Paras made 34 points including 6 3-pointer.

Cantwell Sacred Heart scored 17 points in the first quarter, 5 points in the second, 20 points in the third, 17 points in the fourth quarter and 13 points in overtime with a total of 72 points.

Cathedral Phantoms scored 14 points in the first quarter, 12 points in the second, 15 points in the third, 18 points in the fourth quarter and 7 points in overtime with a total of 66 points.

Losing is part of the game, just bounce back harder team Phantoms. We know that you can do it as a team. Good luck next time.

Tough Loss For Kobe Paras And Cathedral Phantoms Against BishopMontgomery Last Wednesday Night

Cathedral Phantoms and Bishop Montgomery matched-up again for the second time on this basketball season last Wednesday night, February 4, 2015. It was a tight game but Bishop's won with a final score of 76 - 69.

Their first match-up was a month ago where Cathedral was 4 points away from winning that game, 80 - 76. Bishop Montgomery improved to 24-1 overall record and 6-0 in the Del Rey League.

The game was a close match-up and the rival teams were just switching minor leads up to the last three minutes in the fourth quarter. Lucas Siewert fired a three pointer and brought back the lead to Cathedral 62 - 60 with 3:38 minutes left to play.

With 1:30 left in the clock, teams were tied at 67. It was because of Bishops' Stephen Thompson Jr. who executed big plays at the last minute that made them victorious. Thompson Jr. had 25 points at the end of game.

Kobe Paras finishes with 18 points and Milan Acquaah had 25 points.

Bishop Montgomery scored 20 points in the first quarter, 13 points in the second, 18 points in the third and 25 points in the fourth quarter with a total of 76 points.

Cathedral Phantoms scored 13 points in the first quarter, 19 points in the second, 19 points in the third and 18 points in the fourth quarter with a total of 69 points.

Video: Kobe Paras Game Highlights Competing Against Marcus Lovett OfMorgan Park

It was a tough loss for Cathedral Phantoms against Morgan Park Mustangs last January 31, 2015 in their home court. Morgan Park won with a final score of 68 - 59.

Phantoms is on top from first quarter up to the end of third quarter but things has changed in the fourth quarter as Kobe Paras and Lucas Siewert are not receiving enough ball position.

Cathedral leads 20 - 11 at the end of first quarter. At the second quarter, Cathedral is still leading with a score of 32 - 19 but they were nailed to that score. Morgan Parks' outscored the Cathedral with 11 - 2 run. The Cathedrals' lead down to 4 at halftime, 34 - 30.

Kobe Paras had a bad landing when a defender contested his drive. Kobe also showed an awesome dunk which you will see in the video.

Milan Acquuah of Phantoms and Marcus Lovett of Mustangs are both aggressive offensively. At the end of third quarter, Cathedral Phantoms is still leading with 5 points, 49 - 44.

In the fourth quarter, Mustangs became more aggressive in offense and steal the lead from Cathedral, 64 - 56 with few minutes left in the clock.

At the end of regulation, Mustangs claimed the victory with a final score of 68 - 59.
