Cathedral Phantoms Lost Against Valley Vikings With A Final Score of 68- 80

After Cathedral Phantoms winning 9 consecutive games, they lost to Valley Vikings with a final score of 68 - 80.

Kobe Paras who had 23 big points was not able to lift the Cathedral Phantoms in winning the game.  This is the second game of the day of Cathedral Phantoms after beating the Basic Wolves.

Kobe stats are as follows; 23 points, he grabbed 6 rebounds (4 offensive and 2 defensive), 3 steals and 2 blocks.

He shoots 5 out of 9 in the 3-point area (56%), 4 out of 9 in the 2-point range (44%).

Quarter scores are as follows;

Valley Vikings - 25 in the first, 17 in the second quarter, another 17 in the third quarter and 21 in the fourth quarter, a total of 80 points.

Cathedral Phantoms - 18 points in the first quarter, 16 on the second, 11 in the third and 23 in the fourth quarter, a total of 68 points.

Cathedral now has a record of 9 - 1, #78 in the national rank and #12 in California State.

Valley Vikings is a solid team with a record of 16 - 0, #151 in the national rank and #3 in Nevada State.

They already won against Campbell, Liberty and Basic but lost to Valley. This game is for Las Vegas Prep Championships Semifinals.

The Cathedral will move on to their next game on January 05, 2015 against Milikan Rams as part of the new tournament which is Roybal HS (Huntington Park Tournament).

Kobe Paras Scores 22 Points For Cathedral Phantoms And Beat Basic Wolves

Kobe Paras score and explosive performance helped the Cathedral Phantoms to add another win into their record, 8 - 0. His execution inside the hard-court is pretty impressive with his stats he earned after the game.

Los Angeles Cathedral Phantoms won the game against Basic High School Wolves with a final score of 76 - 49.

The rising star Kobe Paras score was a huge 22 points that helped the team to bag home the victory. Paras also grabbed 3 rebounds ( 1 offensive and 2 defensive), 4 assits, 7 steals and 1 block.

He shoots 11 out 14 in the perimeter ( 79%) and missed his single shot in the three point range. He also committed 3 turnovers and 1 personal foul.

Because Kobe Paras played well end to end of the court and produced his most complete game of the season, he was chosen as the Player of the Game against Basic.

Kobe Paras Game Statistics And Quarter Scores Against Hawaii Campbell

Here is the complete game statistics of the rising star from the Philippines, Kobe Paras against Campbell last December 27, 2014.

L.A. Cathedral Phantoms dominated the game all through out. The game ended with a 52 point advantage in favor of the Cathedral Phantoms, 80 - 28.

Kobe Paras (6'6", junior player, Philippines) contributed 14 points, 2 offensive rebounds, 5 steals. He shoots 7 out of 9 attempts in the 2-point range (78%), 0 out of 2 in the free throw line and no 3-pointers attempted.

Throwback Video: Kobe Paras Wins Slam Dunk Contest In FIBA 3x3 U18World Championships

With his great leaping ability and body control, Kobe Paras dunk in a professional level and wins the gold medal of the slam-dunk contest in FIBA 3×3 U18 Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Kobe Paras who’s now famous in the HS Basketball in the states is known as a flashy player. Crowds are pleased when he drive to the rim and slam the ball. This happened last September 2013 where Kobe earned a perfect score from the judges when he made a between-the-legs slam.

Kobe Paras Father - "The Tower of Power" Benjie Paras Received His PBAHall Of Fame Award

Benjie Paras, the father of the rising star Kobe Paras who is making noise in the American High School basketball right now, received his PBA Hall of Fame Award last 2013.

Benjie Paras graduated from UP and then played for Shell (1989 - 2002) and San Miguel (2003) was a two time MVP (1989 and 1999). Benjie Paras is the only Rookie to win the MVP award last 1989. He is also one of the 25 Greatest Players in the PBA History.

Kobe Paras And Cathedral Phantoms Won Against Liberty Patriots With AFinal Score Of 79 - 40

Kobe Paras and his team Cathedral Phantoms grabbed their second win of the day against Nevada Liberty Patriots.

After being hailed as the Champion of San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament against Chaminade last December 23, 2014, the Cathedral Phantoms is on a rally of winning games.

December 27, 2014, the Phantoms played two games in just one day. In the first game, Cathedral won against the Campbell with a final score of 80 - 28.

The second game was against Liberty Patriots where the Phantoms was triumphant also. They ended the regulation with a final score of 79 - 40.

Another big points for Kobe Paras as he contributed 15 points in the game. Milan Acquaah also helped to bag home the victory with 16 points.

Despite the pressure and high expectations on Kobe, he still manage to have some fun inside the court.

Kobe Paras And Cathedral Phantoms Improves To 7-0 With 80-28 Win OverCampbell

Another merciless win for Kobe Paras and Cathedral Phantoms as they became victorious again in the game against Campbell. They dominated the Campbell with a final score of 80-28. It was a huge margin.

UCLA-bound Kobe Paras finishes with 14 points while Lucas Siewert had 16 points. The Cathedral Phantoms outscored the Hawaii Campbell quarter by quarter.

The quarter scores are as follows;

For Cathedral's, they got 18 points in the first quarter, 22 points in the second quarter, big 28 points in the third and 12 points in the fourth quarter to sum up to 80 points.

For Campbell's, they scored 9 points in the first quarter, only 3 points in the second quarter, 8 points in the third and another 8 points in the fourth quarter to sum up to only 28 points.

Cathedral now has 7-0 record in the league.

Video: Kobe Paras Game Highlights In San Fernando Valley InvitationalTournament

As the San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament ended, the rising star from the Philippines Kobe Paras showcased his skills and talent in basketball in the High School Boys Basketball in the U.S.

Here is the video of Kobe Paras game highlights in SFVI Tournament where his performance is so impressive that leads to championship.

Kobe played for five games as shooting guard and small forward position for Los Angeles Cathedral Phantoms and with impressing averages of 16 pts/G, 0.4 ast/G, 2.4 rebs/G, 1.8 stls/G and 0.4 blk/G.

After the tournament, and the Cathedrals' as champions, their national and state rankings moved up tremendously (+80).

Before, the Cathedral Phantoms was at #125 in the national ranking and #22 in the California state ranking with a 34.7 rating.

At present ranking, Phantoms is at #45 in the national ranking and #11 in the California state ranking with a 38.4 rating.

Cathedral Phantoms have a neutral game against Campbell this coming Saturday, December 27, 2014.

If the things will go as planned, there will be more big experiences and big games for Kobe Paras.

Kobe Paras Complete Game Stats And Box Scores Against Chaminade Eagles

Kobe Paras became popular as the San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament ended with a drama, a three-pointer released by Acquaah before the buzzer sounded, and the Cathedrals' claimed the championship title against Chaminades'.

Kobe played only with a limited time in this championship game because he's in foul trouble early of the game, but still he managed to play well. Enthusiastic fans of Chaminades were also cheering for Kobe during the game, and of course, Filipino fans were also there to support the rising star from the Philippines.

Kobe Paras game statistics are as follows;

He scored 11 points in limited game time, 2 rebounds (1 offensive and 1 defensive) and 1 steal.

He shot 1 of 3 in the three-point range (33%), 2 of 3 in the perimeter (67%) and 4 of 4 in the free throw line (100%). He also committed 2 turnovers and 4 personal fouls.

Video: Kobe Paras Showed A Big-Time Dunk As He Elevates From TheSideline

Kobe Paras, the rising star from Philippines who had a solid performance in his last four games in the SanFernando Valley Invitational Tournament, became popular in the High School Basketball in the states.

He gained more fans after the tournament ended because of his great execution inside the court. He played defense well, shoot some three's and showed some monster dunk that pleases the crowd who keep on chanting his name.

Kobe struggled on the opening game of the season where he scored 4 points only, but he recovered and exposed his great leaping skills, resiliency and toughness inside the basketball court.

This game was against Alemany last December 22, 2014 where Kobe scored 30 big points (including five 3-pointers), comes with 1 rebound and 3 steals.

This game was dominated by the Cathedral Phantoms with the help of Kobe Paras who was chosen as the Player of the Game.

The Cathedral overpowered the Alemany and won the game with a final score of 77 - 67.

The Cathedral hailed as the Champions of the said tournament with a 6 wins and 0 loss record.

Video: Cathedral's Milan Acquaah's Three Beats The Buzzer And Wins TheChampionship

The game between Cathedral Phantoms and Chaminade had a dramatic ending. Milan Acquaah fires a three-pointer from downtown before the buzzer sounds. Cathedral won the championship with a final score of 65 - 63.

It was a tough game for Cathedral's as crowd favorite Kobe Paras is in foul trouble, having two quick personal fouls in the opening quarter. Kobe finishes with 11 points in limited game time.

Cathedral's are behind 1 point and they have to set for the last play with 26 seconds left in the clock. Milan Acquaah carrying the ball managed to find a smaller player defending him and he shoots the three-pointer.

According to Coach Middlebrooks, "It was a big-time shot". Acquaah scored 17 points and Michael Obindu added 17 points also for Cathedral.

On the other hand, the tournament MVP is Oguine of Chaminade who had 20 points.

This tournament introduced Kobe Paras, the rising star from Philippines to American basketball. He was impressive in his games. He became crowd favorite also, he just have to learn how to deal with vocal fans out there watching on his next game.

Cathedral finished the SanFernando Valley Invitational with a 6 - 0 record while Chaminade Eagles, 8 -1.

Cathedral Phantoms Hailed As The Champion After Defeating ChaminadeEagles With A Buzzer Beater Three By Milan Acquuah

Cathedral Phantoms bags home the championship game against Chaminade Eagles with a final score of 65 - 63.

Kobe Paras who dropped 30 points in his recent game against Alemany Warriors, was in foul trouble early in the game.

The Chaminade fans are already getting on Kobe Paras at the start of the game. Chaminade is on lead with 8-7 against Cathedral, all 7 points of Phantoms came from Kobe Paras.

Kobe got his second charging foul in the first quarter and he has to sit down for a while. The score is tied at 12 at the end of the first quarter. Eagle's fans are chanting "we want Kobe", "where is Kobe?, who's now sitting on the bench because of two fouls he had in the first.


The game is getting physical, Chaminades are trying to punk Kobe Paras. Cathedral is on the lead, 20-16, Chaminade called a time-out with 5:17 left on the second quarter.

Cathedral is on the lead at the end of second quarter, 36-26, thanks to M. Obindu who presses hard inside, got seven points in 2nd Q and Leandro Amador who hits a 3-points. Kobe was not able to enter in the court of the entire second quarter due to foul trouble.

At the opening of third quarter, Kobe is set again and puts Cathedral more on top with a score of 40 - 26. Chaminades are fouling intentionally Kobe to prevent him in making a dunk. Kobe just got a technical foul because he clapped in the face of his opponent. He returned to the bench with 4:47 left on the clock,third quarter, Cathedral on top, 42 - 34.

Kobe Paras already have 3 fouls. Chaminade is coming back up when Kobe is on the bench, Semaj Shepheard got a 4-point play, 46 - 39 in favor of Cathedral.

Chaminade's Jordan Ogundiran able to makes a three pointer near the closing of 3rd quarter, tied at 46.

22 - 4 run for eagles since the technical foul was called on Kobe Paras.

Kobe is back in the opening of fourth quarter but got it's 4th foul and went back to the bench. Chaminade is on lead 50 - 48 with 6:56 left on the fourth. Another three-point play for Chaminade and the score is now 55 - 48.

57 - 49, Eagle's on the lead with 5:25 left on the clock. Nearing the end of fourth quarter with 3 minutes on the clock, Chaminade is on 5 points lead.

2:37 left, Kobe Paras is back on the court, 63 - 56 in favor of Chaminade.

1:41 left, Chaminade leads moved down to 3 points.

Cathedral's ball with 26 seconds left, down by 1 point only.

Milan Acquuah made a three from the top of the key just before the buzzer sounds. Cathedral won, 65 - 63.

Now, the Cathedral has a record of 6-0 while Chaminade Eagles taste their first lost in SanFernando Valley Invitational Tournament.

Kobe Paras Complete Game Statistics And Quarter Scores Of the GameAgainst Alemany Warriors

Here is the complete game statistics for Kobe Paras when he scored 30 points and leading the Cathedral Phantoms in crushing Alemany Warriors last December 22, 2014 with a final score of 77-67.

Kobe Paras score was 30 points, together with 1 defensive rebound, 3 steals, 5 out of 10 in the tree-point range (50%), he made 6 shots in his 9 attempts in the paint (67%), he shoots 3 out of 4 from the free throw line (75%).

Kobe also had two turnovers and 4 personal fouls.

For the quarter scores, Cathedral outscored Alemany from first to third quarter but they lost interest in the fourth quarter, lots of shouting and advise from Coach William (Cathedral) happened here, and the Alemany Warriors was able to trim down the gap in the end to 10 points.

For Cathedral Phantoms, they scored 20 in the first, 23 in the second, 16 in the third and 18 in the last quarter of the game with a total of 77.

Alemany scored 14 in Q1, 12 in Q2 , 11 in Q3 and huge 30 in the Q4, total of 67.

Cathedral Phantoms (5-0) now will face against Chaminade Eagles (8-0) in the finals that will be held in Alemany this coming Tuesday, December 23, 2014.

Chaminade ranks #352 in the national and 46 in the California state, 29.5 rating.

What's The Reason Why Kobe Paras Made Stunning Performances In His LastThree Consecutive Games?

Kobe Paras showed a tremendous performance in his last three consecutive games. What is the reason that made him to perform and to produce these great achievements in his basketball career in the states?

Kobe stunning execution in the court gave him 30 points, including five 3-pointers against Alemany Warriors and won the game with an ending score of 77 - 67, Monday, December 22,2014 in pacific time (Tuesday in Philippines).

In the game of Cathedral versus Cresenta Valley, Kobe got 17 points, comes with 3 rebounds (2 offensive and 1 defensive), 3 steal, 1 block, 5/9 free throws made (56%) and 6/6 in the two-point range (100%). The Cathedral crushed the Cresenta last December 20, 2014 with a final score of 70 - 42.

For the game against St. Genevieve last December 19, 2014, Kobe Paras spectacular performance helped the Cathedral in bringing home the victory with a final score of 104 - 74. Kobe game stats are also superb by scoring 18 points, 4 rebounds (1 offensive and 3 defensive), 2 assist, 1 steal, 1 block, 9/12 in the paint (75%).

The reason why Kobe's splendid accomplishments is, before these three consecutive games he played where he was so productive, he also played in the first game they had last December 18, 2014 against Simi Valley Pioneers and Cathedral was also triumphant in that game (67 -40).

But in that game, Kobe was struggling, he only got 4 points (2/6 in the 2-point range, 33% 2FG), 2 offensive rebounds, 1 steal and 3 personal fouls. After that game, he practiced a lot and listened to what his coach wanted him to do inside the court. He feel comfortable then, and it shows a very good outcome in his last 3 games.

Kobe said that in his first game, he did pretty bad and that's why he is showing now what he really can do when he focus in the game.

Kobe Paras scored 30 points, including five 3-pointers he made in the game. At the start of the game, Kobe is on fire as he shoots from the three point area and gave the Cathedral the first score of the game. The Cathedral grabbed the semifinal victory against Alemany with a final score of 77-67 in the San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament.

He continues to be more aggressive in offense. He also showed two dunks in which the crowd pleased with it. They are chanting M.V.P for Kobe Paras as what Laker's fans chants on Kobe Bryant.

Lucas Siewart also contributed 12 points for the team.

"I'm feeling more comfortable. The first game I did pretty bad. I just practiced a lot and listened to what coach wanted me to do," said Kobe after the game. Andre Paras was also there to support his brother and gave Kobe a big hug, outside the locker room.

Cathedral Phantoms (5 - 0 record) will play against Chaminade (8 - 0 record) in the final this coming Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Alemany.

Kobe Paras Explosive Performance Leads Cathedral Phantoms Against Alemany Warriors

Another explosive performance for the Filipino pride, Kobe Paras as he dominates the game with 30 points.  L.A. Cathedral Phantoms won against Alemany Warriors with a final game result of 77 - 67.



Kobe Paras is on fire as he starts the game by hitting a three points, he got 8 points already with 3:12 left in the first quarter and blocking some shots underneath the basket.

Halftime score is 43 - 26, in favor of Cathedral Phantoms and Kobe Paras as the leading scorer. Meanwhile Lucas Siewart is firing some three's  also.

In the 3rd quarter, Kobe continues to explode in the three-point range area and now has 18 points, that includes four 3 points and the leads gap up to 19.

Kobe got a slam dunk with a foul around the last minute of the third quarter and the crowd goes wild, cheering M.V.P.

At the end of third quarter, Kobe got 23 points already, Cathedral at 59 while Alemany at 37.

67 - 45 ,Cathedral's favor in the fourth quarter with 5:53 left in the time. Another dunk was delivered by Kobe in the last three minutes of the 4th quarter. Another 3 points for him as he stepped back and shoot.

Kobe Paras now has 30 points. L.A. Cathedral at 76, Alemany at 61 with 1:51 left.

Cathedral won with a final score of 77 - 67.

L.A. Cathedral Phantoms now has a record of 5-0 while Alemany Warriors 6-2.

Team Phantoms will play against Chaminade in the final this coming December 23, 2014.

Kobe Paras and his team Cathedral Phantoms will play against Alemany High School today,Monday,December 22 at seven in the evening in pacific time,at about eleven in the morning, Tuesday in the Philippines.

According to the team which is led by Coach Middlebrooks, this game against Alemany to be held in Mission Hills is a big game as they are already in the final four of the San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament. Everyone is ready and excited for the game. The statement for today is not about winning the game, but how much the team will win.

L.A. Cathedral Phantoms has an unbeaten record of 4 wins while Alemany High School Warriors has 6 wins and 1 loss.

Cathedral is at #125 in the national ranking and #22 in the California state ranking with a 34.7 rating.

On the other hand, Alemany is at #145 in the national ranking and #25 in the California state with a 34.1 rating.

Kobe Paras game statistics average for his past 3 games are as follows;

13 pts/G, 0.7 ast/G, 3 reb/G, 1.7 stl/G and 0.7 blk/G.

It will be a tough game because of the home court advantage of Alemany Warriors but for sure, the Cathedral Phantoms will fight hard for their fifth victory if ever and to remain unbeaten.

Kobe Paras Again Had Shown An Impressive Performance Against CresentaValley

After a dominating win against St. Genevieve last friday night, again, Kobe Paras and his team Cathedral Phantoms brought home the victory against Cresenta Valley with a final score of 70 - 42 last December 20, 2014.

Kobe Paras explosive performance again was a great help for the team to bag home the big win.

Kobe finishes the game with a huge 17 points, 6 out of 8 field goal attempts equivalent to 75 percent field goal percentage. He got a total of 3 rebounds (2 offensive and 1 defensive).

6 out 6 for two-point area while 0 out of 2 in the tree-point range. 5 out 9 free throws attempts were made by Kobe Paras.

He also gathered 3 steals, 1 block , 1 turnover and 3 personal fouls.

Scores for the entire game of Cathedral Phantoms and Cresenta valley are as follows;

Cathedral scored 15 in the first quarter, 17 in the second, 22 in the third and 16 in the fourth. Total score is 70 for the Phantoms.

Cresenta valley also scored 9 in the first, 10 in the second, 16 in the third and 7 in the last quarter with a total score of 42.

Once again, Kobe is one of the key players of Cathedral.

Filipinos are so proud of you Kobe, Pinoys' are so happy of your performance in every game you played. Keep on improving, stay humble because you are doing great!

Video: Kobe Paras Dunks Twice Within 20 Seconds Span Against St.Genevieve

The UCLA-bound Kobe Paras is known for his dunking ability and here is another video that proves that the Filipino prodigy is very impressive now in high school basketball games in the states. In this video, Kobe shows off his defense together with speed and going hard into the rim twice.

During the game against St. Genevieve in the San Fernando Valley Invitational Tournament where Kobe Paras scored 18 points with 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block, this 2 dunks within 20 seconds span happened.

Watch how Kobe Paras made the two dunks within a span of 20 seconds. Wow! He is so impressive!


Kobe's team outscored the opponent's team with a final score of 104-74 victory. This game was purely dominated by the Cathedral Phantoms by teamwork. We cannot hide the truth that expectations are so high for Kobe but Filipinos are here to support him all the way.

Kobe Paras Helping Out The Cathedral Phantoms To Bag Home The VictoryAgainst St. Genevieve

Kobe Paras helped out the Cathedrals to grab a big win against St. Genevieve with a final score of 104-72 last Friday night (Saturday in Philippine time). Cathedral Phantoms now has an unbeaten record of 4-0.

At first, Paras suffered in the the opening quarter because he committed 2 personal fouls in the early game. But he bounced back in the opening of third quarter by scoring 8 points that includes 2 alley-oop dunks fed to him. Another 2 slam dunk made by Paras in the last minutes of the game and bag home the victory.

Kobe together with his team mates, Lucas Siewert who also scored 18 points and the main man for Phantoms that night was Leandro Amador who got 27 huge points.

Cathedral Phantoms scored 29 points in the first quarter, 25 in the second, 29 in the third and 21 in the fourth while St. Genevieve scored 14 in the first, 18 in the second quarter, 24 in third and 18 in the final quarter.

Paras scored 18 points, 1 offensive rebound, 3 defensive rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 3 personal fouls. He shoots 9 out of 12 attempts or equivalent to 75% field goals.

The next game of Kobe's team will be on December 20, 2014, at 7pm against Cresenta Valley.

Kobe Paras Video Breakout In L.A. Showcasing His Impressive Talent InBasketball

There's a new Kobe in L.A., the title says it all. Introducing Kobe Paras of Philippines who showed what he can do inside the basketball court.

This is the first mixtape of Kobe Paras playing in the American basketball as a junior student of L.A. Cathedral Purple Ghosts. Kobe, 6'6" tall, 190 lbs, playing as a small forward, is a Filipino, son of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Legend Benjie Paras who holds the record of PBA Rookie-MVP title.

Last October 11, 2014, Kobe committed to play in the UCLA Bruins in the year 2016. The video features Kobe awesome and breakout moves in different games he played in Cathedral. He can dunk effortlessly, dribble and pass well. In terms of offense and defense, Kobe can shoot and block also.

He is still improving, adjusting how the Americans play basketball and honing his skills more to help the Cathedral Purple Ghost.

The expectations for Kobe is very high and Filipinos are very hopeful that he will enter the NBA court someday. If that happens, he will be the first pure-blooded Filipino to play in the NBA. It will be tough and a long way to go for Kobe Paras but Filipinos are very proud of him in his performance and achievements in the states.
